Ryan and I love getting into the Christmas cheer and who doesn’t love a tacky Christmas party?! So when we realized we would find out Baby’s gender the day before we were looking at throwing a party, we decided to make it a joint celebration. Tacky Christmas and gender reveal may seem like a funny combo, but in the end it all came together and was so fun!
Ok, enough about that! On to the big news! We’re SO excited to announce that Baby Phillips is a…
GIRL!!!
It was so exciting to share the news with family and friends and also to finally start putting some type of identity with our little one. Saying “she” sure beats “it”!
For the announcement we stuck with the Christmas theme and had everyone vote Team “B” or Team “G” by hanging an ornament on the tree and writing their vote.
Then we wrapped pink polka dotted balloons in a giant box, just putting paper over the top so we could burst in and have the balloons float out. It was so exciting!
After that we all celebrated in our tacky Christmas garb! I’m still kicking myself though that I didn’t get a group photo because everyone looked FAB!! The only pic I did manage to get was with my sister who had the most perfect Cindy Lou Who hair (my mom did this with a solo cup).
I’m so glad I had my sister and Mom here, for obvious reasons, but also because they were such amazing bakers and chefs and cleaners and decorators and everything all day. I mean, look at this festive spread…
We did crock pot hot chocolate with flavored marshmallows, a snowman cheeseball, my favorite easy feta dip and pigs in a blanket for snacks.
For the dessert table we did snowmen donuts, chocolate dipped pretzel sticks, spritz cookies (I omit the almond extract and just use more vanilla) and brownie bites, nomnomnom!
Even the bar got a little tacky with sweaters, bowties and scarves!
Ryan also made the most delish white chicken chili and our favorite bacon fat cornbread from Husk. It went so fast, I didn’t even get a pic!
We also had our Christmas decor in full swing! I love decorating for this time of year!
(How cute and easy is this “Nuts”, “No Nuts” idea!)
What a fun night! Our little growing family is feeling so blessed and thankful for the over 30 friends that came out last night to celebrate with us! WE LOVE YOU ALL SO BIG!
