I’ve decided to just skip the OMGs / #lazyblogger comments and jump into the New Year fresh (including an evolving new blog look)! Here’s a little recap of where we left off…
We’ve been loving our new jobs, RVA and had a great time wrapping up our 2013 and beginning 2014!
I’ll start this recap like I like to start my day. With donuts. These beauts are from Sugar Shack (yes that’s a fruity pebbles donut)!
We absolutely fell in love with VA this fall. So pretty!
We finished our August celebrating Omi’s 80th birthday at The Bavarian Chef here in VA. It was so fun to spend time with my German family!
Then it was on to SC to God’s country for the Clemson game with the girls and our beaus! We even rode a boat to the game that day!
Brace yourself, shameless foodie and style photos ahead… One of the best things I made all year, Bacon Cheddar Broccoli Potato Soup in a Sourdough bowl! And I’m pretty sure this outfit can be filed under, “most worn outfit of 2013”.
(Vest: JCrew, Jeans: 7 for All Mankind, Boots: Bought in Nashville :), Bag: Louis Vuitton, Rug: Joss & Main)
Ryan and I got our VA hunting licenses (before our drivers licenses) in late September!
Time to hit up the shooting range!
We finished out September by attending a doggie debutante party for Cottton and Mallie’s new friend Mr. Gordon Barkevious!
October was so much fun, we visited and had a blast with our family in Ohio!
Then we were back in VA to celebrate the wedding of my cousin Tracey! I can’t believe we’re old enough to be married and grown up!
I’ve been having so much fun with my new member group in Junior League and had an extra fun day when we all jumped in a limo and did a wine tour throughout Charlottesville! My favorite vineyard was Pippin Hill, pictured below.
We then got to celebrate another wedding of our dear friends The Laniers, Ry looked mighty dapper as a groomsman!
It was so good to see family and friends, no matter how brief, while we were in town for the wedding!
I had to make a pit stop at Tupelo Honey for some of the best biscuits around. Of course Greenville would get one right after we move :).
We were so excited that Clemson played UVA this year at UVA, so we had friends come visit and we caravaned up to Charlottesville for the game!
And four months after what we like to call the longest short-sale ever, we finally closed on our first VA home! Let the weekends full of home improvement tasks begin!
Another big highlight of the year was our family trip to the Dominican for Thanksgiving!! We had so much fun and memories to last a lifetime!
We definitely weren’t in the normal holiday state of mind when we returned state side, but we soon found ourselves donning the tacky sweaters and playing Chrismtas Vacation on repeat! A trip to NY, DC and DE for work definitely helped too with the chilly weather.
The end of 2013 held a lot of highlights, including our besties engagement in Charleston, SC in December. We were so lucky to be there to celebrate all the excitement! We absolutely cannot wait until this December to be your bridesmaid and groomsman Tyler and Mikael!
In December I celebrated my 26th b-day with great friends at two of my favorite restaurants in Greenville, Lazy Goat and Breakwater!
We celebrated Christmas at home in Camden and Greenville, it felt so good to be home and spend time with all of our family!
After Christmas, we road tripped it back up to VA and hosted our first “linner” in our new home with family!
We celebrated the New Years with some great new friends here in RVA.
Ever since the big blingie ball dropped, we’ve just been loving everything 2014 has to offer so far! I can’t wait to jump back into this blog and share our lovely little life with y’all! TTFN!
