Happy 2015!!! I can’t believe 2014 is already behind us and that this is the year that our baby girl will be arrive in April!
My morning yesterday started out perfect when the house was quiet and I took a bit of time to reflect on the year, get in reading my favorite magazine and sipped a little tea under my coziest blanket. This little girl is always quite active in the mornings when I first wake up and get some water and breakfast.
Later that night, we had a great time watching the ball drop with some of our closest friends here in RVA. It was especially exciting because I had my west coast bestie in town from San Diego.
Even though we stayed in, NYE is always a great excuse to get all gussied up! I almost forgot my tradition of wearing my wedding shoes that Ryan bought in Chicago. I heart red bottoms!
I decided to leave all the Christmas decor up from our gender reveal party to get the most out of it before it goes back in the attic for the year. I did incorporate some New Year bubbles, champagne and crowns though to get us in the excited.
We of course did a mini photo shoot before we started noshing on dinner and goodies leading up to the ball drop.
For dinner, Ryan made a delicious pot roast with collards and everyone else brought delicious sides, apps and desserts. I’ve had quite the sweet tooth with this little one and my sweet friends catered right to it with Sugar Shack donuts and homemade ice cream and cookie sandwiches made by Mike!
We all counted down to 2015 and popped champagne to celebrate!
I loved hearing everyone’s New Year’s resolutions and one of my favorites from Anna was to put away the phone and be more present. This is one that I know I definitely need to work on this year. Ryan and I declared though that our biggest resolution this year is to be patient and good parents. I think this one is pretty big and if we can succeed in this I’ll consider 2015 to be one blessed and amazing year.
So what are your resolutions and New Year’s traditions?
